"I have always loved to express myself creatively and painting is one of my favorite ways to do so. The majority of my artwork is acrylic on canvas. I also incorporate newspaper, ink, and various other mediums from time to time. I explore different themes and objects all with the same appreciation for bright, vibrant colors, beauty and simplicity, typically focusing in on one thing. Inspiration comes to me from almost anywhere. It could be the lyrics or melody of a song, a walk around the city, colorful street art, a striking photograph, and anything else I find intriguing and/or beautiful. I try to give my artwork a personality of positivity and “coolness”...something that makes you feel good when you look at it.
It is the excitement of exploration, discovery, and inspiration that keeps me painting. It’s the challenge of bringing what I imagined to reality. It’s beginning with a destination in mind, only to end up somewhere better than I ever imagined. I paint to inspire. I paint out of an obligation to use my gifts to better the life of somebody else because that’s why God gave them to me. I paint because I love to do it and it makes me happy!
I want my art to inspire just as others have inspired me. I’ve been blessed with opportunities to use my art & my gifts to give back to the community and that’s what I aim to continue doing while I’m here."
